The University Of Energy and Natural Resources closed due to Covid-19 pandemic

The Ministry of Health has confirmed four more cases of COVID-19 on the 14th and 15th March 2020, making a total of six cases in the country.

Following the President’s directive, the University of Energy and Natural Resources and its Basic School are closed from today Monday 16th March 2020 until further notice.

By this directive, lectures, sporting activities and all other gatherings including conferences, religious activities (church and mosque services) have been suspended indefinitely.

Students in the university’s accommodation facilities and private hostels are to vacate these premises and return home immediately.

The staff of the university are also requested to stay away from the university until further notice.

Nevertheless, essential services would be offered until further notice.

Management of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) would like to encourage all members of the university to take care of their health and that of their families by adhering to the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health.

In this respect, the management of the university has directed as follows:

2. Management of the university is putting in place e-learning platforms that would enable communication and interactions among lecturers, students and administrators during this critical period.

3. The earlier directives issued by the university management still hold.

Management of the university is advising members of the community to remain calm and follow all the safety guidelines as well as measures provided by the university health services.
