The Voice supports Nsawam prisoners

The Accra branch of the Voice of the Lord Evangelical Church, has donated items worth GH? 2,000.00 and a cash of GH? 500.00 to the inmates of the Nsawam prisons.

The items include bags of rice, maize, gari and sugar, bails of second hand clo ths and sandals, packets of toilet rolls, bibles, tissue papers, bags of charcoal and boxes of soap and detergents.

Receiving the items on behalf of the prisoners, the Chaplain of the Nsawam Prisons, Reverend Martin Padi, expressed appreciation for the kind gesture, saying it would help reduce the stress of the prisoners.

He appealed to other churches, organisations, philanthropists and other well meaning Ghanaians to emulate the example of the church.

Rev Padi said, sometimes medicine for sick inmates gets finish due to their huge number and appealed for medical support.

Rev Eric Appiah, National Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Church said, as part of the 21 days revival and prayers of the Church at Accra, it decided to touch the hearts of the inmates by presenting the items to them and also interact with them.

He added that, its time society devote time to serve the inmates to help reform them.

Rev Appiah advised the inmates to take care of themselves especially the youth and avoid troubles that could send them back to jail when they are free.
