The Chief of staff who was part of the President’s entourage that visited the Upper East, West and the Brong Ahafo regions to monitor and evaluate developmental projects being undertaken by his appointees in the various districts and municipalities in those regions maintained that the level of developmental projects initiated by the Mills administration clearly indicated that the better Ghana agenda was being operationalised and on course. Mr. Henry Martey Newman told Radio Gold in an interview at Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo region that, the success of the current government was a clear manifestation of the efforts being put in place by the ministers and other appointees who he said had taken the bull by the horn to ensure the realisation of the better Ghana agenda. He indicated that the developmental projects undertaken by government inter alia, the building of health posts, removal of schools under trees, upgrading and construction of new roads, improvement of educational infrastructure are a clear manifestation of leadership in development translated effectively on the field.
‘’I am so happy about the rate of development , so pleased that I am a chief executive of this man whom I have known for over forty years and whose perspectives I shared in and believe in’’ Mr. Newman said.
On whether the developmental initiatives that are being undertaken by government will be enough to garner votes for President Mills and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2012 presidential election, Mr. Henry Martey Newman said ‘’yes it will translate into votes, the people can see and feel it. It’s very clear it’s no lies. It is evident of development and we believe that, that will translate into votes’’.
