The courts are your only option – Pianim cautions NPP

An Economist and Investment Consultant, Kwame Pianim, has reiterated the importance of the NPP challenging the results of the 2012 elections in court to prove whether the 2012 elections were free and fair.

According to Mr. Pianim a law suit will prove if there was any form of manipulation of the actual election results by the Electoral Commission. He cautioned the NPP’s Presidential candidate, Nana Addo against conceding defeat until he gets justice in the law courts.

“If something went wrong in elections, we want to know so we learn from it; so it is good to get it documented for everybody to know.”

“In Ghana if something happens and you are not happy or sure of it, you go to court and the judges determine; I think that every Ghanaian has a right to make sure that he gets fairness and justice.”

Mr. Pianim further stated that it will be good the courts confirm the numbers of the election results so that the winner can enjoy his victory without reservation. He also warned the party leadership to keep the supporters off the street and use the laid down procedures.

The leadership of the NPP is yet to file a lawsuit against the Electoral Commission on electoral fraud in the just ended polls.
