The devil can’t deny me my ministerial position – Oti Bless

The new Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, John Oti Bless has poured his praises to God for his approval Wednesday after several months of his appointment hanging in a balance.

“It’s a great day and a day of praise and thanks to God. Indeed God is wonderful and have to be praised at all times,” Oti Bless said just after his approval by the August House.

He said alas the devil has been put to shame notwithstanding the opposition that he was faced with vis a vis his nomination as a deputy Minister.

“…The devil can never deny you from getting whatever God wants for you in life. Before the release of the purported case concerning the Chief Justice and myself, there were a lot of issues that cropped up; lies, fabrications and petitions and all that but at the end of the day the devil has been put to shame. If today the most high God has finally shown his power, in that approval that has been given, I owe God the gratitude and glory.”

The Minority in parliament has referred to Bless’ approval as an injury time opportunity given the newly approved deputy Minister and doubts whether this will have any positive change to the administration of the Executive.

But Oti Bless said he’ll do his best to hit the ground running within this short period to the general polls.

The Ministerial appointment of the Nkwanta North legislator had been in limbo for the past three months following his alleged abusive remarks against the Chief Justice on an Accra-based radio station – Montie FM.

NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Bekwai, Joseph Osei-Wusu led the charge against Oti Bless’ approval and referred the Speaker to comments made by the nominee during the political talk show.

His nomination was subsequently put on hold by the Speaker of Parliament pending further deliberations over the matter.

But at a sitting on Wednesday, October 26 2016, Oti Bless was finally approved by the House after the Speaker called for the vote over his nomination.
