The greatest mistake Ghanaians made was voting out Mahama - Ofosu-Ampofo

The immediate past National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, has asserted that one of the greatest mistakes ever made in Ghana is former President John Dramani Mahama being voted out of office after his first term.

According to Ofosu-Ampofo, Mahama, the flagbearer of the NDC for the 2024 election, was transforming the country before he lost the 2016 elections.

He said that all forms of allegations of corruption were made against Mahama, but investigations by the very people who made the allegations have exonerated him.

He, therefore, urged Ghanaians to vote for the former president in the upcoming December 7, 2024, presidential elections.

“We need very honest, sincere, and incorruptible people to lead this country. I praise God because a lot of insinuations were made about President John Mahama by members of this government. But, this government’s own OSP has come out to say that John Mahama’s hands are clean.

“Today, if you look at Ghana, you see the handiwork of John Mahama everywhere in the country. The greatest mistake that we made in this country was to vote out John Mahama. If we had given him another four years, he would have turned Ghana into paradise. But it is always better late than never. Let us give him another chance,” he said in a video from a campaign event he shared on Facebook on August 23, 2024.

He added that with Mahama and his running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Ghanaians can be assured that they would have leaders who are incorruptible and whose only interest would be to transform the country.

“We are introducing to you the pair of hands, John and Jane, very clean, very incorruptible, very productive, and very result-oriented,” he said.
