The General Overseer of the Alive Chapel International Ministry, Bishop Salifu Amoako, has criticised Ghanaians for discussing issues without knowing the whole truth.

Addressing his congregants during his Sunday church service on October 20, 2024, Salifu Amoako stated that people, particularly Ghanaians, tend to speak cheaply because that is what they have.

He made this known while warning his church members against engaging in unnecessary discussions about the tragic accident that had affected his family.

In a video posted on X by CITI FM and sighted by GhanaWeb, the man of God said “People don’t know the truth so Ghanaians talk. The only thing they have is talking. Did you hear what I said? Ghana here, they don’t have anything, the only thing they have is talking. Talk is cheap, don’t go and say things to add more pain to my life. Stay calm, stay quiet, the case is still in court.”

Bishop Amoako shared the experience of how his son's situation was being discussed by some individuals, which made him feel uncomfortable enough to leave the premises.

He used this as advice to his congregants, urging them to excuse themselves when uncomfortable topics are being discussed.

“If you are not comfortable just get up and go. Yesterday I was somewhere. We were sitting down and the lady was talking to her children about the issue. But I was not comfortable so I told Pastor Dan, to open the car and let me go and sit inside. I can’t handle it,” he said.

Salifu Amoako, his wife Mouha Amoako, and Linda Bempah, a sales assistant were arrested and charged with permitting an unlicensed person to drive.

The High Court in Accra on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, granted bail of ¢50,000 each to the three.

Rev Amoako’s youngest son, 16-year-old Elrad Salifu Amoako was involved in a fatal car crash in East Legon, claiming the lives of two young girls on October 12, 2024.

Elrad Amoako lost control of a Jaguar SUV (GN 7801-20) and collided with a 4×4 Acura vehicle (GR 2542-23) driven by Joseph Ackah.

The collision caused both vehicles to catch fire, resulting in the occupants of the Acura being burnt beyond recognition.
