Media personality and philanthropist Dr. Oheneyere Gifty Anti has shared three mysterious dreams that she believes contributed to fulfilling her spiritual and physical needs, ultimately leading to the birth of her first child.

Gifty Anti, who will turn 54 in January, shared that her love for charity played a significant role in fulfilling her long-held desire to marry and have a child, including her daughter, who is soon to turn seven.

Speaking at the ‘See Us Give’ Conference in Accra on Saturday, August 3, 2024, she shared her personal journey in philanthropy, urging others to embrace a similar path.

She recounted the dreams that guided her to remember the poor and needy, believing that her benevolence played a crucial role in addressing her own pressing needs.

She recounted, “In these two books I shared an experience in there and I will share it with you, and then you decide whether you want to give or not.

“For years I yearned to have a child. I tried IVF four times, but it never worked. Then one day in 2016, I had a dream. I saw kids sitting in front of my house, dirty with fluids coming from their noses and their clothes dirty.

“So, I asked them, where are the people who are supposed to give you food? And they said to me, now that you have a child, you don’t have time for us. In the dream, I said I wasn’t doing this because I didn’t have a child. And I heard a voice say, do not forget about these kids when I answer your prayer,” she narrated.

Gifty continued, “Second dream: I saw a woman walking in front of my house to and fro, looking miserable once again. So, I asked her, why are you not coming in?

“You always come to my house, so why is it that today you are outside? And she said, now that you are married, it seems you are busy. Then I said I wasn’t helping people because I wasn’t married. So, I invited her in and hugged her. Then I heard a second voice saying, do not forget about these when you have your own.

“Final dream, the third one: I dreamt that I had given birth and they had cut me. So, from day one, I knew I would pass through a C-section. And in the dream, as soon as they brought the child to the theatre bed, she turned and asked, Mummy, how many siblings do I have? And I said plenty. Then I heard the third voice, do not forget your promise when I bless you. Two weeks later, on December 24, 2016, I was confirmed pregnant.”

Dr. Anti further spoke about the challenges of giving, including betrayal and disappointment, but affirmed her commitment to continue her charitable efforts.

“Giving comes with betrayal, giving comes with disappointment, giving comes with scars, but we give all the same. Every year after my giving experience, I tell myself I won’t do it again, but the next moment I am out there because giving is inside me,” she said.

She added, “Whatever God gave to you is not just for you. Listen, nobody who gives goes unrewarded, nobody. People are selfish, and nowadays it starts in the church. People are suffering, grieving, crying, and sitting in the church miserable. If you don’t have anything, they don’t use you for anything.”
