For Daniel McKorley, founder, chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of the McDan Group of Companies, the window seat of his private jet has become his favourite workstation.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of a thriving business career, he finds solace and inspiration at 30,000 feet in the air, watching the world unfold below him.

“I understand that traveling as much as I do and working from different time zones may not suit everyone," he reflects.

"But for me, it’s where the magic happens. When you love what you do, work doesn't feel like work, right?,” he posted on his Facebook page, October 10, 2024.

As a prominent business leader, he is often on the move, attending various forums and conferences across Africa and beyond.

He embraces the unique opportunity to blend work with exploration, turning flights into productive sessions filled with strategy discussions and innovative ideas.

“Traveling and working simultaneously feels like I’m drafting a plan while watching the world go by,” he shares, particularly excited about his upcoming trip to Kigali, Rwanda, for the AfCFTA Business Forum, branded Biashara Afrika 2024.

“It keeps my perspective fresh and ideas flowing. It allows me to contribute meaningfully to Africa’s inclusive and sustainable economic growth.”

In his years of travelling, he has mastered the art of balancing work deliveries with cultural exploration.

Each destination enriches his understanding of the continent's diverse business landscape, helping him forge connections and partnerships that drive his vision for the McDan Group and the broader African economy.

Beyond the professional gains, Daniel appreciates the beauty of the journey itself.

The sunsets viewed from his window seat provide a unique backdrop for reflection and creativity, inspiring him to think bigger and broader about the impact he wants to make.
