The flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Hasssn Ayariga, says Ghana’s vast natural resources should have been used effectively to transform the fortunes of the country.
He says lack of visionary leadership and the practice of the winner takes all policies are to blame for Ghana’s inability to attain a middle income status.
According to Mr. Ayariga, the struggle between the so-called two major parties with personality attacks and name calling, which sometimes lead to violence, is a clear indication that those parties are only seeking power for their selfish interest.
Mr Ayariga said this when he addressed party loyalist at Damongo en route to the Upper West Region for a two day campaign tour.
“Ghana’s youth have no confidence; Ghana’s youth do not believe that they will one day rule. Ayariga has come out to let you understand that it is time for us to rule. We are ready to take the leadership of this country,” he stated.
He said with him, the youth can transform the fortunes of the country, saying “I want to give you that society that I have gotten; that you can become ministers and deputy minister and MPs.”
