Theft at Golden Jubilee House

The police have mounted a search for five people believed to have stolen electrical cables from the Golden Jubilee House.

A police notice gave their names as Prince Brako, 30; Kofi Quainoo, 32; Ebenezer Duao, 38; Henry Pappoe, 27 all electricians, and Francis Nartey, 23, a labourer. They are all employees of Mamphey Developers, a housing construction company in Accra engaged in construction work at the Golden Jubilee House, slated as the official residence and offices of the President of the Republic of Ghana.

Briefing the Ghanaian Times yesterday the Nima Divisional Police Commander Andrew Angwubutogwe Awuni said on January 14, the suspects went to the site after close of work and stole a quantity of underground electrical cables valued GH¢12,144.50.

He said the director of the company detected the theft the following day and reported to the police, but the suspects absconded before they could be arrested.
