Dr. Elvis Kwadwo Kumankumah, District Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church at Old Tafo, in Kumasi, has expressed his profound gratitude to the president-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for winning the December 7 elections through determination, perseverance and prayers.
According to him, there is a lot to learn from him, that through determination and perseverance, there is nothing impossible to achieve in life.
The Pastor noted that in spite of lot of concerns raised by opponents against him, that he can never be president, he fought on believing that only God is the kingmaker
He expressed his admiration for Nana Addo who has lost elections two times previously with close margins, but accepted the results for the sake of the country until God paved the way for him on his third bid.
Rev. Kumankumah, however, entreated Nana Addo and his team not to forget the contract they have with the people of Ghana, and deliver, and not to disappoint the electorate who reposed their confidence in the NPP.
He commended Ghanaians, especially the various stakeholders and political parties, who played a key role before, during, and after the elections, to make it possible for the successful and peaceful elections.
He lauded the Electoral Commission (EC) for conducting successful and violent free polls, in spite of some few challenges which characterised the exercise during the special voting.
Rev. Kumankumah commended the out-going president, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, for his bold decision to concede defeat, which, the Pastor said, had demonstrated that he is, indeed, politically matured to help the country’s forward march through stability in a peaceful atmosphere.
He also commended the media for a yeoman’s job done, before, during, and after the elections, and entreated them to keep the good work for the sake of Mother Ghana and children unborn.
