NDC’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has established that Otumfuo has since the inception of Ghana’s fourth republic extended wisdom and good guidance to all five presidents who governed the country including the incumbent, Nana Akufo-Addo.
He added, the Asantehene’s wise counsel to governance has over the years contributed immensely in finding lasting solutions to political differences between past and present
Mr Asiedu Nketiah, who was responding to comments relating to Otumfuo persuading Former President Mahama to concede defeat after 2016 elections, maintained, the NPP is trying to create an impression that former President Mahama’s decision to heed to Otumfuo’s advice makes him less of a democrat.
He stressed that Asantehene has successfully given good counsel to former presidents; Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor, late John Evans Atta Mills, John Dramani Mahama and currently the sitting president Nana Akufo-Addo.
“I am aware that since the inception of this fourth republic there is no president who hasn’t benefitted from Otumfuor. I am aware that President Rawlings, Kufuor, Mills and Mahama all benefitted immensely from the advice of Otumfuor. I am also aware that Otumfuor has given series of advice to Nana Akufo-Addo. Whether he has accepted or rejected it is his own business”.
