President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has given Ghanaians an assurance that in spite of the challenges facing the country, his government would ensure that Ghanaians smile at the end of it all.
Speaking at the NPP delegates conference at the Koforidua Technical University on Saturday, President Akufo-Addo said the NPP would remain resolute in making Ghana a better place for all.
“I know that things are still not easy, but if we stay true to what we are doing, there is light at the end of the tunnel. If we stay true to what we are doing, we will achieve the ultimate aim,” he said.
He noted that his government will maintain discipline in the management of public finances to ensure that the aspirations for a better economy will not remain just a dream.
According to the president, he would ensure, under the leadership of his formidable economic management team led by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia that Ghana’s economy works again contrary to what his administration inherited from the Mahama-led administration.
“The rate of inflation has improved from 15.4%, and we are now in single digits. We have begun to restructure our debts to give us greater fiscal space.”
“We have to get the economy working again; it was not working when we came into office, with the lowest GDP rate in the history of this country,” President Akufo-Addo stated.
