Third Force: New Political "Party" Emerges

A new political force which will challenge the dominance of the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress is just about to emerge. Sources close to the Nkrumahist political centre say last minute frantic efforts are being made to secure the unity of at least four parties of the generic CPP and prominent individuals from other parties.

The four main parties involved in this initiative are the People’s National Convention (PNC), the CPP, Great Consolidated People’s Party and the National Reform Party.

It is believed that when the unity of the Nkrumahist parties is consummated, individual Nkrumahists who have found their way into other political parties will retrace their steps to the mother party.

The Leader of the PNC, John Mahama who opted out of the talks is fully committed to the Nkrumahist unity and says that the only remaining matter to be settled is the adoption of his party’s symbol by the new united Nkrumahist force.
