The Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Sammy Awuku, has urged Ghanaians to embrace hope by voting for the New Patriotic Party.
Addressing party faithful at the NPP’s final rally held at the University of Ghana Sports Park on December 5, 2024, he expressed hope in the party’s ability to fulfill all its campaign promises.
He pointed out the transformative vision of the NPP and its determination to build on its successes.
He pointed out that Dr. Bawumia would focus on job creation, enhancing the free Senior High School (SHS) programme, and ensuring financial stability for Ghanaians.
“The election before us is an election between hope and hopelessness. It’s a contest between the future and the past. The election before us is a destiny vote. The free SHS, job creation, and money in the pockets of the youths are number one on the ballot paper.
“Don’t play with your destiny, vote wisely. This election is not about a fake promise of offering you three chicks or running shifts at a nightclub, no, not at all. This election is about your future,” he noted.
Former President John Mahama, the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has campaigned on a promise to implement a 24-hour economy if elected. This proposal includes a shift system aimed at boosting economic productivity by keeping businesses and services operational around the clock.
Mahama has also pledged innovative job creation strategies and targeted economic reforms to address the challenges of unemployment and economic hardship. However, the NPP has dismissed this promise as unrealistic and insufficient to meet the immediate needs of Ghanaians, positioning their policies as more practical and impactful.
