This year’s Christmas theme is “2013, The Year Of Corruption” - NPP Guru

Government, through the Interior Minister, Kwesi Ahwoi announced last week that December 25 and 26, 2013, Christmas Day and Boxing Day respectively as well as January 1, 2014, New Year’s Day are statutory public holidays.

But after the Government failed to affix a theme to this year’s festivities, the National Youth Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Emmanuel Atefuah Danso, has dubbed the celebration as “2013, the year of Corruption”.

Explaining further, he maintained that the trend of corruption and the lackadaisical way Mahama’s administration has handled it is alarming, considering the fact that nothing has happened to the institutions and individuals indicted by committee reports.

Emmanuel Atefuah Danso posited on Okay Fm that Ghanaians will always remember the year under review as government reprehensible dealings in SUBAH, SADA, GYEEDA, Isofoton and Waterville matters.

“…..have you heard the theme Ghanaians have given this year’s Christmas? They call it ‘2013, the year of corruption’……everybody is talking about corruption and so, in the solid foundation President Mahama has laid, a lot of monies have been deposited in SUBAH, SADA, GYEEDA, Isofoton and Waterville,” he surmised.

The NPP Youth activist however urged Ghanaians to collectively help in the fight against corruption, praying that this behavior in Mahama-led administration does not become part and parcel in the year 2014.
