This young chef ‘sold’ Ghana’s food to Queen Elizabeth, France President Macron

Chef Elijah Amoo Addo, founder and Executive Director of Food For All Ghana, has taken Ghanaian cuisine to remarkable heights, with his journey taking him from feeding the vulnerable in Ghana to cooking for royalty and world leaders.

Through Food For All Ghana, Chef Elijah addresses food insecurity by providing meals for the homeless and the underprivileged.

His story began with an encounter with a mentally challenged man who collected leftover food from Elijah’s workplace to feed others in need.

This sparked Elijah’s mission to support the vulnerable on a larger scale, moving him from his secure chef role in a major Ghanaian hotel to starting Food For All Ghana.

His efforts even led him to challenge a Guinness World Record by planning to create the longest table to serve food to the marginalized.

Chef Elijah’s work soon gained international recognition. His dedication earned him the prestigious Queen’s Young Leaders Award from Queen Elizabeth II, a moment he commemorated by wearing his chef’s jacket, which he said “caught the queen’s attention.”

During the visit to Buckingham Palace, he prepared waakye, his favorite Ghanaian dish, along with other African delicacies, for the Queen.

His culinary journey didn’t end there. The French President, Emmanuel Macron, and Ghanaian President, Nana Akufo-Addo, also took notice of his work, resulting in an invitation to the Élysée Palace in France.

Chef Elijah’s story exemplifies how one person’s commitment to feeding the needy can inspire global admiration.

His work through Food For All Ghana continues to make a profound impact, extending compassion and Ghana’s rich culinary heritage to those in need across the nation.
