Those asking me to stop election prophecies are Pharisees - Rev. Owusu Bempah

The leader and founder of the Glorious Word Ministry International, Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah has described his critics as Pharisees.

The controversial prophet was invited by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to explain his assassination prophecy on Nana Akufo Addo, presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah had said, "some politicians in this country are planning to assassinate Nana Addo. God has revealed this to me and I want the security detail of Nana Addo to intensify his protection".

Following his prophecy, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) John Kudalor instructed that he [Bempah] be invited to explain his prophecy. He turned himself in and after the interrogation; his lawyers described the visit as a friendly one. Some men of God have admonished their colleague pastors and prophets to stop the election prophecies.

However, Rev. Bempah speaking to Kwame Tutu in an interview with Kwame Tutu on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm took exception to the call by those asking him to put a stop to his election prophecies.

He said prophets cannot be excluded from politics since their contribution is biblical and Godly. He explained and cited some biblical characters who were ordered by God to support and campaign for persons he [God] has chosen to preside over his people. "I am not a prophet of doom. I don’t prophesy for money and I’m also not greedy. I am an exceptional leader and prophet. I started giving prophecies on Ghana’s election many years ago. I have prophesied victory for the NDC before but this year’s election is not for them. Majority of my member are NDC but they will lose this election. When God reveals to his prophets, it cannot be hidden. I will always prophesy to the people what God has revealed to me."

When asked if his prophecies are truly from God, he said, even Jesus Christ was challenged and chided by the Pharisees and so he would not be shaken by the negative comments from those who see him as a doomsday prophet.

"I am doing what God has instructed me to do and so I will not be disturbed with the negative comments from my critics. Some have claimed that Mahama will win and I have also prophesied that Nana Addo will win. So let’s wait until we vote and the results declared then we will know who is indeed a prophet of God. Those calling on me to put a stop to my election prophecies have been possessed with Pharisees spirit. They are 'evil'. He added, if I should listen to the Catholic Bishops Conference and other critics, I would be devoured by a lion. They [Bishops] are old prophets and if I listen to them, I will be devoured by a lion." he concluded .
