The Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II, has said that threats of dismissal as a High Court judge will not deter him from voicing his concerns over national issues.
He emphasized that he would never go hungry should he lose his position and that he would continue to criticize the government in the face of vindictiveness.
Speaking at the first anniversary of Dumasua Nkosuohene Nana Ayebiafo Jinana on July 26, 2024, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II stated, “In Ghana, the politicians deliberately misbehave, so for me, as Agyeman Badu II, unless the people of Dormaa restrict me from talking, I will speak out against any president who is doing something wrong. If you will sack me from my work, sack me; I will still feed.”
He further asserted, “Anybody who comes to power and things aren’t going well, I will be in Dormaa Ahenkro and speak against you to let you know that what you are doing is not going well. I will equally praise you if you are doing wonderful. The last time I went to exchange my money, the dollar was at 15.8%.”
The chief, who is known in private life as Justice Daniel Mensah, a High Court judge, has been very consistent with his criticism of the administration of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
