Three NPP members file papers to contest primaries in Ho Central

Ho, Aug 26, GNA - Three prominent members of the Ho Central Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Monday filed nomination papers to contest the parliamentary constituency primaries.

They are, Lt-Col Benjamin K. Attakey (RTD), 60, Administrative Manager of the Veteran Association of Ghana, Dr John Mawulawoe Letsa, 51, Medical Practitioner and Mr Seth Kpodo, 55, Managing Director of Royal Liberty Hotel in Accra.

Mr William Agyare-Gyapong, Chairman of the nine-member Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Ho Central Constituency of the party disclosed this to newsmen.

He said the delay was as a result of the inauguration of an IMC to administer the affairs of the constituency in fulfilment of a Ho High Court order that tasked a neutral body to administer the affairs of the constituency.

He said the aspirants have fulfilled all formalities in line with the party's constitution.

Mr Agyare-Gyapong said nominations for other constituencies were formally closed on July 21.

He said the Committee was working to ensure peace in the constituency to enable the party to strategise and win next year's general elections.
