At separate meetings with Prof Delle during the week, the leaders lauded the former chairman's contribution to CPP, and his capacity to unite all fragmented groups in the party which is a vital requirement for positive impact in election 2012. Scores of regional and constituency executives from the three regions told the Ghana News Agency in separate interviews that 93the former National Leader is the right personality among the contenders to project the legacy of CPP.

Leadership of the three Northern Regions considers Prof Delle as the most affable and

politically mature person with an impeccable reputation in both private and public life,

international exposure and highly connected, high diplomatic negotiation skills and ability to

work with every Ghanaian irrespective of one's political background. Prof Delle who is touring the three northern regions provided communication equipment to

the party structures to make good of his commitment to overhaul, replenish and set the party in

motion for success in Elections 2012. Prof Delle, tagged as the logical choice for the party's chairmanship, unveiled the document

dubbed, 93The Overhauling, Replenishing & Success; ORS Blueprint", which outlines his vision

for a re-branded CPP that is well energized and poised to re-capture its past political glory. The former CPP Chairman who is also Physician and Dermatologist explained that

considering the crucial nature of next year's general elections, it has become imperative for the

party to have a more experienced, committed, competent, visionary, resourceful, principled,

independent-minded and results-oriented leader.

According to Prof Delle, the ORS Blueprint seeks to totally overhaul the party through reactivation of the party's structures at all levels in order to ensure greater impact in Election 2012.

"There is the need to build the party in such a way as to link all constituency offices to regional offices and then regional offices to the national office, all in a bid to ensure effective communication," Prof Delle noted stressing that the party urgently needs such an overhaul.

He also identified the need for renovation and innovation to shore up the party's fortunes in the next general elections, which requires unity, consensus building and tenacity of purpose.

Prof Delle said as National Leader, the goal for mobilizing the human resource within the

party for effective campaigning, through capacity building of its leaders, as well as identifiable

groups, such as the Youth and Women's wings; Tertiary networks; Council of Elders; past and

present Members of Parliament and leading members of the party. He acknowledged that since no single individual can achieve this, such an exercise requires "all hands on deck" to enable the party to make good use of the skills and resources of its members.

To this end, there will be a need to create a special intra-party dialogue platform for all CPP flag bearer aspirants before and after the contest to reduce any animosity among them, he noted.

He said the overhauling and replenishing will certainly set the party in motion for success in Election 2012 and beyond adding, all these will require hard work from every member of the party.

Prof Delle reiterated the call for unity and tenacity of purpose in the campaigning for the next general elections and appealed to the delegates to look beyond monetary considerations when deciding who should occupy executive positions in the party because 93our focus should be on choosing capable men and women of integrity and acumen to lead the party to electoral success".
