Enchi (W/R), Dec. 29, GNA- Kwaku Asiedu, aged 35, and Kwasi Atta, 32, of no fixed employment have been arrested by the Enchi police for stealing 25 bags of cocoa beans from the shed of the Federated Cocoa Company (FEDCO), a private Licensed Cocoa buying company at Enchi in the Western Region.
Kwabena Oppong, 38, a cocoa-buying clerk alleged to have connived with the two suspects in the theft was also arrested.
Police Detective Sergeant Kojo Bondzi told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Enchi that the suspects, armed with locally manufactured pistols went to the depot at night and stole the cocoa, which they later sold to Oppong.
Sgt Bondzi said the police got wind of the theft through an informant.
