Three babies have been reported dead in Accra after their parents sprayed an insecticide at home.

The deceased babies, a two-year-old baby boy and a set of twins were brought to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra having difficulties breathing.

They were immediately put on oxygen after they were rushed in, but they died shortly after arrival on Friday.

Their parents were arrested and detained but were released on Saturday and have been asked to report back on Wednesday.

Information gathered indicate that the parents have disclosed that they sprayed their rooms with a fumigation tablet and went to bed later on, only for the babies to wake up with breathing problems following which they rushed them to the hospital.

The Public Health Department of the 37 Military Hospital and the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) have begun investigations to establish the cause of death.
