Three educationists sign book of condolence at Fomena

Fomena(Ash), Nov.09, GNA - Three educationists have signed the book of condolence at the Bonsra Afriyie Palace at Fomena in memory of Nana Ofori Agyemang II, Omanhene of the Adansi Traditional Area. They were, Mr Joseph K. Onyinah, Obuasi Municipal Director of Education, Mr Isaac Kofi Bimpong, Adansi North District Director of Education and Mrs Veronica Essuman-Nelson, Adansi South District Director of Education.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Nana Kwantwiwaa Apoma II, Adansihemaa, Nana Baffour Kyei II, Fomena Gyaasehene, Nana Adu Ampoti Dwaah III, Regent of Bodwesango, Nana Asante, Adansihene's Linguist and Mr E.A. Asante, Assistant Ashanti Regional Registrar. The directors presented two bottles of schnapps and 500,000 cedis towards the funeral celebrations.

Mr Onyinah, on behalf of the directors expressed appreciation about the role the late Adansihene, played towards the promotion of education within the Adansi State.

"I am aware that over 90 senior secondary students have been given scholarships in addition to supporting the organisation of best teacher awards within the Adansi State," he said.

The Obuasi Municipal Director noted that the death of the Adansihene was a great loss to stakeholders in education but was optimistic the council would maintain the support to improve education in the area. Nana Baffour Kyei, Fomena Gyaasehene said the gesture by the directors was an honour to the Council and the Adansi State. Meanwhile, more organisations and individuals continue to make presentations towards the funeral of the Adansihene.

They included M. Barbisotti and Sons Building Company, Obuasi Butchers Association, Obuasi Scrap Dealers Association, JMO Timbers and Charles Donkor Enterprise at Fumso.
