Three publishing houses present books to PPAG

Three publishing houses, Ghana Book Trust, Afram Publications and EPP Books have presented large quantities of assorted books to the Young and Wise Centre of the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana(PPAG).

Receiving the books, the Executive Director of PPAG, Dr Catherine Dawson-Amoah, who expressed appreciation to the donors, said improving young people’s education also helps to improve the quality of their reproductive health.

She said the young and wise is the youth brand of PPAG, which is targeted at reaching out to young people with information and services including library services that make them to abstain from premarital sex and maintain quality reproductive life styles.

Nana Amma Oforiwaa Sam, Manager of the Southern Zone of PPAG explained that, PPAG has seven PPAG Centers throughout the country with libraries attached.

She said the libraries used to be the most attractive areas of the youth centers but in recent times, the patronage had dropped because some of the books had become outdated, hence the decision to appeal for new books to restock the libraries across the country to make them more attractive.
