Three school projects put up through partnership inaugurated

Manso-Nkaasu (Ash), March 25, GNA - Three school projects, including a six-bedroom teachers' accommodation, a three-unit classroom block and an aqua-privy facility for the Manso-Nkaasu Basic School in the Amansie West District were on Thursday inaugurated.

The Asanteman Council through partnership with the World Bank implemented them.

Inaugurating the projects at a colourful durbar, Mrs Beatrice A. Prempeh, the District Director of Education, said since education was pivotal to the development of any society, every effort should be made to make it easily accessible to all children in the country.

She said there was therefore a need for effective collaboration among all stakeholders to make this happen.

"It is in the light of this that the initiative of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, with regard to the partnership project with the World Bank, is most commendable", said.

Mrs Prempeh said the burden of providing the basic facilities that promote quality learning and teaching should not be left to the government alone.

"Let us all accept to do our bit as individuals, groups and organisations to support the development of education".

Mr Benjamin Kwakye-Adeefe, the acting District Chief Executive, said the people were grateful to Otumfuo Osei Tutu for complementing the efforts of both the government and the district assembly at improving school infrastructure in the area.

Nana Asibuo Boateng, chief of the town, expressed the hope that the teachers and the people would be motivated by the structures to put in their best and raise academic performance.
