Three individuals have been shot at Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Constituency, leaving one dead and two in critical condition.
The victims are reported to be supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to Nash Nyandey Adams, the Youth Organizer of the NDC, the incident occurred while they were returning from a polling station at Iron City.
He told reporters that they were attacked, with shots fired indiscriminately from behind by individuals in a black Land Cruiser vehicle.
The injured, including the deceased, have been transported to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested four individuals for possession of an AK-47 assault rifle.
Counting and the declaration of results are currently underway following the closure of polls at 5 p.m. across most polling centers in the country.
The 2024 elections were conducted across 276 constituencies nationwide, with the process being largely peaceful.
However, isolated incidents of violence have been reported, including the confirmation of one death in the Tolon Constituency in the Northern Region.
The Electoral Commission (EC) has urged Ghanaians and political parties to exercise patience as it fulfills its mandate of delivering a successful election.
