The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tolon Constituency who doubles as the First Deputy Majority Chief Whip of Ghana’s Parliament, Alhaji Habib Iddrisu, has paid school fees worth GH¢600,000 for 500 brilliant but needy tertiary students in his constituency for the 2023/2024 academic year.
The support forms part of his Soyalana Educational and Endowment Fund aimed at supporting brilliant but needy tertiary students in the Tolon constituency.
So far over a thousand students have benefited from the Fund.
At a short ceremony in the Tolon constituency, Habib Iddrisu, noted that the Soyalana Educational and Endowment Fund bridges the gap between the poor and rich in the constituency and provides the poor with an opportunity to get access to education to pursue their dreams.
He encouraged the beneficiaries to ensure that they make good use of the opportunity and work hard to graduate successfully for the betterment of their families and the constituency.
The beneficiaries of the Soyalana Educational and Endowment Fund expressed their excitement about the support and assured the MP that they would ensure that they use the knowledge and skills acquired to impact the constituency.
