Tony Aidoo Is Angry

Dr Tony Aidoo, the National Democratic Congress's (NDC) Director of Research has taken the party's leadership to the cleaners, describing it as "stupid." "How can a party leadership be so stupid?" he angrily asked.

According to him, the NDC has served as a "bandwagon for all kinds of adventurers and opportunists" who do not share the party's objectives or ideologies but have used it for their selfish ends.

Dr Aidoo said these last week on Radio Gold's "Alhaji and Alhaji," a current affairs programme. Dr Aidoo, who did not hide his displeasure at the party's defeat in the just ended 2004 elections, attributed it to what he called "internal disorganization of the NDC" and the party's failure to respond appropriately to the "falsehood and lies perpetrated" by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to him, the NDC had sat down throughout the years for whatever achievements it made during its tenure of office to be written out by the NPP. "The NDC did not have the courage to tell the people what it did. "How can a party leadership be so stupid? The NDC legacy is not a fabrication. It's real," Dr Aidoo observed.

He noted that the NPP has always had the audacity to lie to the nation and strangely and ironically enough, the NDC has always lacked the courage to tell the truth. "The NDC has disappointed its supporters as well as the Ghanaians as a whole. "The NDC has let the nation down," he added.
