Tony Aidoo charges NDC; No more Politics of Personalities

The Head of Policy Monitoring and Evaluation Office at the Presidency, Dr. Tony Aidoo, has advised the leadership of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to “define in unequivocal terms their policy of engagement with former President [John] Rawlings.”

According to him, it is a duty the party owes to itself and Ghanaians since politics of personalities is drawing Ghana backwards.

“No more politics of personalities. Let us grow up and play the politics of issues so that we don’t take the people for granted,” Dr. Aidoo said on Citi Eyewitness News.

Dr. Aidoo opined that for Ghana to move forward, the electorates should move away from “politics of personalities to politics of issues. That is what we need in this country for us to forge forward.”

The NDC founder, ex-President Rawlings, has dominated the news over the last few days following his appearance at the congress of the breakaway National Democratic Party (NDP), whose flagbearer is his wife, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings.

He maintains he is still a member of the ruling party and has told Citi News President John Dramani Mahama is capable of winning elections in this country “in his own right.” However, party leadership has threatened to sanction him for double allegiance.
