Unlike their political rivals the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who are brute and crude in their approach to political machinations, Kennedy Agyapong has bemoaned the fact the New Patriotic Party (NPP) believes in only book and gentility.
He is worried that this “Booklong” and gentility attitude of the elephant family is rather playing to the advantage of the opposition cautioning the party to update its approach to issues or lose out.
“NPP should wake up because the gentility is becoming too much. You make it appear as though you are the only party in Ghana that understands democracy. They go and plan and get bogus pastors and journalists to come and defend”, he said on NET 2 TV monitored by MyNewsGh.com citing the leaked tape of Elvis Afriyie Ankrah as an example wondering why the NPP has not been able to match up to their submarine tactics.
I can be a gentleman too – Ken Agyapong vows
It would be recalled that in March 2019, Kennedy Agyapong revealed that as part of activities to re-brand himself, he had ceased being rough and will adopt the gentility style of approach in his public discourse as done by leading members of his party,
According to him, he is not quitting politics as reported by a section of the media but will no longer go to radio or television stations to defend the party and descend to the galleries as was the case.
“I have resolved that since NPP is charting the path of gentility, I will also be gentle henceforth so that everyone will see that Kennedy Agyapong, the other side of him shows that he can be a gentleman”, he revealed in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
Continuing he said “It does not mean I will not do party work. Chairman Marfo here is a party executive. Is he an MP but some of the things he does are more than what an MP will do. So if I am also joining Chairman Marfo I think we will still work. The Wednesdays and Tuesdays queues to see me will be non-existent and would bring some kind of relief to me”, he stressed.
