Death has laid its icy hands on Nii Adjei Boye Sekan, former Presidential Staffer in charge of P(NDC) cadres, after a protracted ailment. Nii Boye Sekan, as well, a former MP for Ledzokuku, Teshie in Accra, died at 9.45pm at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
Family sources told Daily Guide that the former MP had been battling with diabetes for sometime, which made him spend most part of his days in hospital since the NDC lost power.
At a point, he was declared dead by a newspaper before he came to deny the publication. He was a student at the Ghana Law School, but his failing health prevented him from completing the course. He faded from the political limelight when the NDC lost the 2000 elections, having lost his parliamentary seat too to NPP’s Edward Akita.
Reacting to his death, a fellow cadre and former Acting General Secretary of the NDC, Bede Ziedeng, expressed regret over his death. “It is a most unfortunate and sad event. He is a young man who had worked for this country. But, unfortunately, he has been battling with ill-health.”
Bede said despite has deteriorating health; the former presidential staffer was ready to fight for his people. Unlike other people, observed Bede who is now a front-runner in the breakaway Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), the deceased NDC member was a reasonable person. “He thinks about issues before taking decision,” Bed stated.
