An American TV host, Bianna Golodryga, has described Ghana's economy as one of the hottest and fastest growing economies in the world now.
According to Golodryga, Ghana's economy is even growing at a faster pace than that of the United States of America.
Golodryga, one of the host for the morning show of America-based international TV channel CBS made the statement while discussing the State of the Union address by US President Donald Trump.
Trump, while listing his achievements since he became President of US described the American economy the ‘hottest economy’ worldwide, maintaining that the current economic growth rate of the country is unprecedented.
Trump said: "...In just two years since the election, we have launched an unprecedented economic boom, a boom that has rarely been seen before. There’s been nothing like it. We have created a 5.3 million new jobs and importantly, added 600,000 manufacturing jobs, something which almost everyone said was impossible to do but the fact is we are just getting started”
“The US economy is growing almost twice as fast today as when I took office and we are considered far in the way, the hottest economy anywhere in the world, not even close,” Trump was reported by Ghanaweb.com to have added among other things.
But joining other co-hosts of her show on the CBS' ‘Late Show', Golodryga stated though Trump had been able to stabilise and make the US economy a healthy one, it was definitely not the hottest or fastest growing economy in the world.
Speaking in a video, Golodryga disclosed that the economies of Ghana and other countries like Nigeria and China were growing faster than that of the US
“There’s a difference if you are talking about a healthy economy and the hottest economy ever in history which is just not the case, Ghana’s economy is growing faster than the US economy, Nigeria’s economy is growing faster, India, even China’s economy is slowing but still growing at a faster rate than the US economy,” Golodryga stated.
