Trader before court for fraud

Kumasi, April 21, GNA- A Kumasi Circuit Court had granted a 100-million-cedi bail with one surety to be justified, to Samuel Jones Ayim, a 28-year-old trader for defrauding his colleague of 7,000 Euros. He pleaded guilty and would re-appear on May 10.

Prosecuting the case, Chief Inspector Regina Kesewa told the court presided over by Mr Ernest Yao Obimpeh that Ayim collected the money from Mr Yaw Berko-Asare, the complainant on February this year, with the pretext of buying dollars for a business transaction.

The accused then went underground until his arrest this month. Chief Inspector Kesewa said Ayim confessed that he took the money to facilitate his efforts to travel and therefore gave 5000 Euros to a travelling agent to get him travelling documents.
