Traditional leaders enacts byelaw to protect farmers

Gomoa Panfokrom (C/R), March 21, GNA - Traditional leaders of Gomoa-Panfokrom in the Central Region have introduced a bye-law under which owners of domestic animals which destroy farms will be fined 50,000 cedis per animal.

According to Nana Panfo X, Chief of Panfokrom, the move was aimed at protecting backyard gardens and farms around the town from constant destruction by stray goats and other animals in the community.

Disclosing this to the press at Panfokrom at the weekend, Nana Panfo advised people in the town, particularly domestic animal owners, to cooperate with the restrictions to ensure sanity in the administration of the town.
