Squatters who were ejected after a demolition of their make shift structures at the Adjiringanor – Trassaco junction area in Accra on Sunday are now at the mercy of the weather.
The operation was led by some unidentified men with the full protection of armed police officers.
Unauthorized kiosks and wooden structures along the main road and within the enclave were all pulled down in the process.
Some of the victims, who say they have no where to go told XYZ News they are now stranded because they were taken by surprise.
After the operation the squatters, on Monday, were seen counting their losses as they made all attempts to recover their destroyed properties.
One of the evacuees, Josephine, a nursing mother told XYZ News she had to spend the night stay with a benevolent neighbor who gave her food and water to bath her three-month old baby and 3year old daughter.
“Just look. the rain beckons this morning. If it happens that the rain falls all our belongings will get destroyed even more”, Nii Nai, another affected resident said.
Children were also seen to have skipped school to assist their parents salvage what they could from the rubbles.
The exercise comes barely a week after armed robbers raided a forex bureau in the area and bolted with over 50,000 cedis in various currencies.
