Ghanaians are gearing up for the much-anticipated general elections on December 7, with just 40 days remaining until election day.
Presidential candidates and their parties are embarking on extensive campaigns to communicate their policies and messages to the populace.
Ultimately, however, it will be the voters who decide in December who will receive the mandate to lead the country for the next four years, based on factors that influence their voting decisions.
Ghanaians, especially traders in the Madina market, have expressed their readiness to vote, highlighting the indicators and messages that will motivate them to cast their ballots.
Speaking exclusively to GhanaWeb TV on Monday, October 28, 2024, some voters shared that peace and stability would influence their decision to vote.
Others also stated that the reinforcement of town councils to oversee cleanliness in the marketplaces and communities would be a deciding factor in their decision to cast their ballots.
“What will make me vote is the developmental projects in the country that will benefit future generations. Initially, we used to have town councils who ensured cleanliness and fined persons who flouted the rules, but now we do not see them anymore. We want them to reinforce all these councils to enforce cleanliness in the communities,” she said.
Another voter also mentioned that her condition and standard of living would influence her voting decision.
“I will look at my current standard of living to vote, and I will also vote for a candidate who will better develop the economy. We are suffering. As a fruit seller, prices of the stuff have all increased drastically, which is bad,” she said.
