The Director of Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Elvis Afriyie Ankrah says the Deputy Chair of the Electoral Commission (EC), Dr. Eric Bossman Asare must go back to school to learn more about politics after describing him as a 'Trickster'.

According to him, Dr. Bossman’s comments on the EC’s decision to compile a new voters’ register were “unfortunate” and inimical to the peace and stability of the country.

“He must go to GIMPA to learn more,” he said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced it will be compiling a new voter’s register for the 2020 general elections.

This announcement comes after a stakeholders’ meeting with the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) on Wednesday.

The NDC has strongly denied such a conclusion has been reached and asked the Electoral Commission to withdraw the "deceptive" and absurd communique.

Reacting to the claims by the NDC, on Eyewitness News, Dr. Asare intimated that, the EC will not engage in any partisan media banter, a comment Elvis Afriyie did not take kindly.

Dr Bossman Asare, Deputy Chairman of the EC, speaking in an interview on Citi Eyewitness News Thursday, was emphatic that it lies only in the bosom of the EC to determine if and when "a new register is necessary", adding that the Commission will provide a new register in 2020 no matter the objections from any political party.
