A truck transporting cartons of Oba Spaghetti overturned on the Tema to Accra section of the Motorway near KICC, resulting in significant traffic congestion.
The Burkina Faso-registered truck spilled its cargo, obstructing one lane of the two-lane road, as reported by citinewroom.com.
Christian Atsu Tsikata observed unusual traffic at 5:10 am, noting that traffic is typically light at that time.
"It was unusual to encounter traffic near KICC around 5:10 am because it is usually clear at that time of day," he said.
"The traffic situation is likely to worsen as the day progresses because even after the truck is removed, there will still be a delay to manually clear the debris from the road."
The situation has been exacerbated by early morning rain, causing further delays for drivers stuck in traffic.
