Government has declared Tuesday, August 21 as a public holiday.
This is to mark Eid-ul Adha.
A short statement released by the Minister of Interior, Ambrose Dery, on Wednesday said the day “should be observed as such throughout the country”.
Eid-ul Adha, the second of two Islamic holidays, is the festival of sacrifice for Muslims.
It honours the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah.
