Tussle over lorry park land resolved

Awutu Bereku (C/R), Oct 31, GNA - A Magistrate Court at Awutu Bereku in the Central Region presided over by Mr Charles Adjei-Wilson, has declared that the late Opanyin Kofi Ansah was the owners of the land the Number One Branch of the GPRTU at Kasoa was operating on. In his judgement, Mr Adjei-Wilson ordered the GPRTU, the Awutu-Efuttu-Senya District Assembly and the Cape Coast Land Valuation Board to find an appropriate and fitting compensation to Atta Bonney and sisters, children of Opanyin Ansah.

In his ruling Mr Adjei-Wilson said the facts proved that the land belonged to the late Kofi Ansah who died about three years ago but since it was serving public interest as a lorry station a fitting compensation should be paid to the children of Opanyin Ansah. The Land Valuation Board was asked to report back to the court as soon as agreement had been reached on the fitting compensation. 31 Oct 05
