The Twellium Foundation has donated GH¢40,000 to Sheikh Ibrahim Cudjoe Quaye, the Hajj Board Chairman, towards the completion of expansion, works on the Alajo Central Mosque in Accra.
Mustapha Anass, the Head of projects and events at Twellium Industries, producers of Rush Energy Drink and Verna Mineral Water presented the cheque to the chairman of the Pilgrimage Affairs Office of Ghana, Sheikh Quaye and Alhaji Mohammed Quaye, the Municipal Chief Executive of the Ayawaso Central Municipal Assembly, at a brief ceremony in Accra.
Mr Anass said, the donation was in support of the Islamic faith and the outfit's unflinching support to all laudable initiatives in Ghana and to seek for God’s blessings in their lives.
Sheikh Quaye said the Alajo Central Mosque, which used to have a capacity for about 1,000 worshippers, would be expanded to about 3,400 after completion, saying that “worshippers won’t struggle for space anymore.”
The Hajj Board Chairman expressed gratitude to Twellium Foundation stating that “Alajo is doing extension works and they have gone very far, but they still need about triple of this amount (GH¢40,000) to be able to complete.
We are hopeful that by the end of Ramadan, we would see the completion of this extension so that those who pray outside would now go upstairs to pray.”
Sheikh Quaye said "This is a gesture that awards blessings to Twellium who are noted for their charity. They have been very charitable to not only Moslemsm, but all Ghanaians. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting this. I’m grateful to Twellium.”
The Former Ayawaso Central Parliamentarian called on other corporate bodies to come on board to support the expansion project.
