Two Burnt In Motor Accident

Brakwa (Central Region), 7 Oct.,

A nine-year old boy, Kwame Annan and a driver's mate, Kwame Boadu, 25, suffered severe burns when the lorry on which they were travelling burst into flames at the outskirts of Brakwa in the Central region at the weekend. The personal effects of passengers on the vehicle worth several hundred thousand cedis were also burnt. According to a police report, the vehicle which was travelling from Agona Swedru to Brakwa through Odoben failed to climb a hill so the passengers alighted, leaving Annan behind. It said the vehicle then started reversing and suddenly burst into flames. Boadu entered the vehicle to rescue Annan during which both of them suffered burns. The two were, however, later treated and discharged at the Brakwa health post.
