Two Fulani Herdsmen beheaded

Nkawkaw, Nov.14, GNA - Two Fulani herdsmen have been beheaded by unidentified persons in the bush near Nkwantanan, a farming community within the Kwahu South District.

According to the Nkawkaw Divisional Crime Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) William Daah, the Mpraeso police last Sunday had information that two headless bodies were lying in the bush near Nkwantanan.

He said the police went there and collected the bodies who were later identified as Urmaro Ruga, 18 and Aliu Buba, 17, both Fulani herdsmen of Lita Ruga, a cattle owner in the area.

The Crime Officer said the cattle owner sent the two men last Saturday to accompany herds of cattle to graze in the bush but they never returned only for their headless bodies to be found in the bush after a search.

He said the bodies had been sent to the Kwahu Government Hospital at Atibie for autopsy while the police were making efforts to retrieve the heads.

ASP Daah said no arrest had been made but the police were investigating to arrest the culprit.
