Kumasi, Aug 12, GNA - The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi is converting two hospitals into teaching hospitals in addition to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) to provide clinical training to its medical students.
Prof Kwesi Andam, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, said the university was going to use the University Hospital in Kumasi and the Sunyani Hospital in the Brong-Ahafo for that purpose.
The Vice-Chancellor said this when a 30-member delegation from the Central-Northern Region of Burkina Faso called on him at his office on Wednesday.
The delegation, led by Madam Fatimata Legma, the region's minister, is touring the Ashanti Region to explore possibilities for business partnership and co-operation and to share experiences with their counterparts in the region.
He said KNUST is linked to some universities in Africa and it is now the turn of Burkina Faso to be integrated fully into its programmes. Madam Legma said she was happy about the collaboration and said Burkina Faso recognises KNUST as a model institution, expressing the hope that the visit would foster cordial relations between Ghana and Burkina Faso.
