The incident happened on Monday, September 15, at about 0300 hours.

The auditors have been contracted by the Controller and Accountant General’s Department to undertake an assignment and they were sleeping when the pistol-wielding robbers broke into their rooms, hit them several times with the butt of their guns, forced them to lie down, rummaged their places and made off with their items and cash.

ACP Duku said the suspect and his gang had booked hotel accommodation, where the businessman was staying but the police received a tip off and moved in to prevent them from carrying out their evil plan.
