Two children drown at Santasi-Apire

Two people drowned during a heavy downpour last Friday at Santasi-Apire, a suburb in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

A 7-year-old pupil of the Community International School near Santasi roundabout, Kofi Ahenkan could not make it back home after school closed last Friday due to the rains.

A source hinted that the other victim, 17-year-old Akua Manu (alias mumee) went to the school to pick the boy up.

Unfortunately, the two met their untimely death on their way back home when they were swept away.

Their bodies which were discovered at Ahenemma Kokoben near Santasi after a heavy search by residents were retrieved on Sunday afternoon.
