Two in court for poisoning

Asamankese, Aug. 26, GNA - Two persons have appeared before the Asamankese Circuit Court for attempted murder.

Kwasi Atile, a palm wine tapper, pleaded guilty for poisoning the drink of the complainant and was remanded into prison custody to re-appear on September 8, while Kwasi Yeboah, his accomplice, pleaded not guilty and was granted five million cedis bail with one surety to be justified.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector G. D. Bruce, told the Court presided over by Mr S.S. Appiah, that the complainant, Mr Samuel Kofi Yeboah of Okumaning, near Kade, engaged the services of the accused persons to weed his farm.

He said Samuel noticed that a palm wine Atile and Yeboah offered him was contaminated with a pesticide and caused their arrest.
