Accra Oct. 28, GNA - Old Students of Adisadel College on Thursday launched a two million-dollar fund for the construction of a modern resource centre for the school to sustain qualitative education to its students.
The project, which is to climax the centenary celebrations of Adisadel College in 2010, will be completed within three years. Mr Ebenezer Begyina Sekyi-Huges, Speaker of Parliament and an old student, launching the fund noted that education was a pre-requisite for the development of any nation and hence the need to sustain quality education.
The resource centre to be sited near the northern entrance to the school off the Accra-Takoradi highway would house a well-equipped library, several offices, a computer-training centre and a multi-purpose hall.
The project divided into two phases would also have adequate parking facilities.
Mr Prince Kofi Amoabeng, Chairman of the Fund Raising Committee, during an appeal for funds urged the old students to support their alma mater.
Quoting the school ode, Mr Amoabeng said: "Our main concern should be whether we have honestly fulfilled the words in our dynamic school ode we proudly sang as students, which is...
"Others have laboured and we shared their glory, ours is to do exploits and add to their gain."
